Chevy Equinox Review, Pictures, & Specs
The Chevy Equinox Crossover SUV Brings Utility, Comfort, and Value to Fort Wayne Drivers
The Chevrolet Equinox is the compact crossover of the Chevy SUV lineup, but don't let its smaller stature fool you. The Equinox holds its own with a long list of standard and available features, two turbocharged engine options, and a full suite of advanced safety features and driver aids. With comfortable seating for five, spacious and versatile cargo capacity, and confidence-inspiring handling, the Chevy Equinox is great vehicle for Fort Wayne commuters, weekend warriors, and smaller families.
Interior
The Chevy Equinox ensures occupants are comfortable and taken care of, with contoured and cushioned seats, intuitive touchscreen infotainment, and available dual-zone automatic climate control and heated and ventilated seats. With all seats occupied, Equinox provides 30 cubic-feet of space behind the second row. If you need to prioritize cargo, the 60/40-spit seat backs fold flat, increasing available capacity to 64 cubic-feet.
Advanced Safety Features
New for the 2020 model year, the Chevy Equinox now includes several advanced safety features and driver-assistance technologies as standard equipment. So, no matter which trim level you choose, you get the added security of features like:
- Following Distance Indicator
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- IntelliBeam Automatic Highbeam Headlamps
Powertrain
Under the hood, the Chevy Equinox gets its power from a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque) paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
If you're looking for a little more get-up-and-go, the LT and Premier models can be had with an available turbocharged 2.0-liter power plant that generates 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and is matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and LS models and above have the option of all-wheel drive.
